The talk
From Gemini to AI for Financial Services: Building for the consumer vs. the enterprise at the time the world changed.
Transitioning from building Gemini for billions of Android users to deploying enterprise AI for financial services at Unique AI is a massive paradigm shift. In the consumer world, the North Star is scale and boundless possibility; in regulated finance, it is precision, verifiable trust, and zero risk tolerance.
Navigating this domain shift was challenging enough, but it happened precisely as the underlying technology changed the world forever. Generative AI didn’t just alter the products we ship—it completely broke and rebuilt how we build them.
In this session, we will first break down the critical differences between consumer and enterprise product management, exploring how the end-users, primary metrics, and risk tolerances completely flip. From there, we will dive into how the AI revolution is fundamentally rewriting the day-to-day PM playbook to meet these new demands. We will debunk the myth that the “PRD is dead” (it is actually more critical than ever), explore how “vibe coding” collapses the distance between a PM’s brain and a working prototype, and examine how the traditional PM-UX-Engineering triad must adapt when designing agentic behavior rather than static screens.
